Here's some new work that I wanted to get up:
I absolutely love these petite Paris books! We rescued them from the market - and they are just beautiful!
They are both filled with white paper (120g) - hand torn, hand folded, hand sewn - with linen thread onto leather straps.
The straps have all been salvaged from leather from the market also! Antique leather briefcases and purses - that I've started to deconstruct and use the pieces in my work.

This petite journal even has the original Paris school paper inside the front cover - signed 1884!

They would make perfect little pocket travel journals!

I also finished this totally cool vintage travel guide journal! I just loved this book cover when I spotted it - it's so unbelievable retro looking! Look at that type on the cover!

And, I couldn't pass up this Rome book! It's sewn onto brown leather straps - using a french link stitch binding - and adhered and stitched with an "X" in linen thread onto the cover.

I covered the interior front and back cover with index pages from my vintage atlas books - making sure to put "Rome" into the front cover!
The first and last pages are also index atlas pages.

I missed posting yesterday...
we went to "The American Library in Paris" for "Evenings with an Author" last night
to hear Pamela Druckerman read from her new book, "Bringing up Bebe".
I'd heard a few interviews with her - and we are expecting the book to show up in the mail any day now (as a gift for us!). I am so excited to read the book - so, when we stumbled upon the advertisement of her visit - we were excited to go. It was our first time to the library - which seems to be a great find! She read an excerpt from the book and then took questions. Mostly people has comments rather than questions for her - it was very interesting and informative - and she seemed very gracious. I'm looking forward to hearing her stories. . .
