Here are some pics of a new journal that I am working on -

I'm trying to create more journals with upcycled book board - and hand sewing the leather piece as the spine.

This board was from a vintage atlas book - you can see the original paper on the interior of the covers. I carefully hand cut and sanded and sealed the edges.

The cover has large embossed circles - I hand stitched the mustard yellow leather spine onto both covers. Then stitched in the pages...

I really like the look of the sewn on spine - there are lots of options for creative stitching onto the book board. - More ideas coming...

I'll post finished pics of this journal soon - I just have to rivet on the leather strap.
