Foire Nationale Antiquites Brocante et Jambons - CHATOU

We went to the big antique market this weekend in Chatou (just a bit outside of Paris). We had stumbled upon this market last year in a magazine article that my father had sent us about France. So we went last year. And we LOVED it! Yes, LOVED it! It might be one of my all time favorite things to do here in Paris. Last year we found lots of treasures - the biggest and best - of course is my gigantic book press.

We found some little goodies this year - a wooden box, more binoculars, glass jars, wooden pins, and L bought a beautiful leather satchel for work.

The market is just down off the Pont de Chatou bridge - with the Seine flowing past both sides of the market.

The RER train is just steps away - making for easy access into Paris.

We started straight away with lunch down Boulevard Voltaire - one of the aisles that has been transformed into something of a "restaurant row" - with regional specialties. Each stand is unique...complete with there own table and chairs and decor. We decided to eat at the same stand as last year - because the ham sandwich was simply amazing. (And, I'm not big on ham...) But, I really loved this sandwich!

These fries were so delicious!

Voila! A perfect meal -

with wine - and antiques - and fries - and L
- makes for a perfect day!

The restaurant row...

And of course - tons and tons -
of stands and stalls
full of antiques!

The market runs twice a year:

March 9 - 18, 2012
September 28 - October 7, 2012

If you happen to be in the area - I highly recommend it!
