Upcycled Book Board - I found this vintage Atlas in a second hand bookshop in Paris. The grey cover has large embossed circles. I hand stitched the mustard leather spine onto both the front and back cover.

The pages are hand stitched with grey linen thread - french link stitch binding.

The interior of both covers have the original pages from the atlas.

I have been thinking about creating a series of journals with this kind of binding for some time now - so, I'm really happy to finally start experimenting with them!

This is a great way to reuse vintage book covers - but, also to have a spine with the stitching visible -

The journal closes with a burnt orange leather strap riveted onto the back cover of the journal.
